Searching for Umami
Knudalce looks for a route to Umami. He asks many people only to be driven away. No one knows what it is. His food is snatched away.

Kn is obstructed by guards
GM is tied to a pole and has been badly beaten. He was punished for stealing food. Knudalce returns at night and rescues him. He offers him food and some ointment.

Knudalce sat down on the bench in front of the permit issuing office. It was night time. The office was closed and the filthy officer had left hours ago. Knudalce had bought some roasted meat for his dinner. There were several thoughts racing through his head that had suppressed the sensation of hunger. The very fact that his Grandpa’s killer, Pasta Ferry, would already be on his way to Umami while he is stranded in a country that has outlawed swanews troubled him.

Kn meets GM
With the southern forests the home of the rebels, guards don’t allow anyone to exit through the southern gate without a permit. Kn decides to get a permit.

The permit is a clever scheme to sell forms and ball point pens.

Kn finds a way out
GM gets a thin man. He suggests that they cross root canal to reach the southern forests. Only the rebels can direct him out of Tooth.

Mention: Where does Knudalce want to go.

Root canal is flooded
The dam is released and the main channel of root canal is flushed. Knudalce and GM and PP survive the ordeal but not without the destruction of the raft. They also land up much further east near the farmlands.

JNT and JS find the escape
Three horsemen discover trails that point out the possibility of an infiltration.

A hooded man listens carefully and meets a bartender. He asks for a relay to VLR HQ.

Kn, GM and PP walk
They wake up near a coastal region. The raft is broken. (mention that) They walk south-west ward into the agri land. (mention that)

OMD is a lone guy working in a huge field. He explains the agri lands and invites them to stay.

Scene describes OMDs past. OMD had lost his wife and children.

Kn wakes up drugged
When Knudalce woke up, his eyes were heavy, his head throbbed and he couldn’t move his arms. He looked through his barely open eyelids. Gopi Manchuri was still asleep. He wasn’t snoring and his hands and feet were tied. Knudalce realised he would be tied, too. His senses felt disjoint. He forced open his eyelids. Everything around him appeared as if they were coated with orange, pink and maroon paints.

Kn and gang is drugged
Knudalce is transported to HQ along with GM and PP. He can see through the slot in the carriage. The carriage stops as it is attacked by a group of rebels.

OMD knows that Kn is a swanew. He says that God El will execute him.

The attack
OMD is knocked out cold. As soon as he is about to get killed, three men arrive. The rebels abandon OMD and his two sidekicks, take the chariot and ride away.

Kn and GM cross Gingivia
The rebels intend to kill the three. Knudalce and GM escape into the forest. PP is taken as a prisoner.

Kn tells GM he needs a mentor
Kn says how in the ancient times swanews knew a lot of forbidden techniques. That helped them combat a lot of wild animals and their nemesis.

They are attacked by an animal and they somehow escape. Kn is wounded. GM doesn’t know how to help him.

The mentor invites Kn and GM.

4.4 OMD mmets AW
Alice Wonderland is introduced. El doesn’t want any chaos. She rounds up her troops and they march from HQ to the forest

4.3 The mentor and the diary
Kn shows that he has been making a lot of stuff from his Grandpa’s diary.
He teaches Kn the principles of swanews.
He doesn’t know who Kn’s Grandpa is.

JnT and JS find themselves in South

5.1 Kn's help is needed
Their leader suffers from diarrhea. Knudalce is asked to treat him. Knudalce notices a man drinking on the rocks. He wonders how can a bunch of drunkards save Toothache.

5.2 Kn saves CB
CB says how he has rounded up a group of rebels after El’s coup and murder of the ex-king.

He takes him around and explains how they are planning to recapture the throne and lift the ban.

- The great annihilation is mentioned but VRL doesn’t know much.

CB is finally
It took over seven days for Captain Berty to completely heal. Gopi Manchuri had been fairing well, too and he was released from the pen along with Captain Berty’s older bodyguard. Knudalce could stay there for ages if he had not got a more important task of finding Pasta Ferry. And for that he had to escape these guys as well as Toothache. He could hope that Viva la Resistance guys wold eventually let him go free once their leader was fully healed.

PP is freed. PP has a small talk with GM. While Kn is busy treating VRL, he gets to know that PP has escaped with a horse.

The group is worried that their younger leader would be captured just like their older one.

EIEIO attacks VLR and only few guys survive. CB is one of them. He escapes with fellows.

The Underground makes their move
Mecha Traveller’s head was throbbing. He was sure it wasn’t as bad as Jugo Shaowtest. Both Mecha Traveller and El Diabolo were tied by their hands and their feet and were sitting in one corner of the room. Meanwhile, Jugo Shaowtest, with his head wrapped in bandage, sat on the cot, leaned against the wall and read Austrain Jane’s latest masterpiece.
